A mantra to make a ghost appear

How to make a ghost appear

`Ful chalite anchol chali

Aro chali Shib

Char kon prithibi chali dev danab jeeb

Gache thakos dohai dhormer

Sunye thakos dohai Ramer

Amar dohai peila jodi

Na ahos, Suleiman Nabir matha khao

Amar ei ashore dia pao

Mishti sure kotha kao
'
(Repeat thrice)

The above mantra (in Bengali) and many such others are recited while performing a series of intricate rituals for getting a ghost to appear before the spiritualist. Don't try this if you are a patient of panic disorder. This particular mantra comes from a book of mantras (something like a grimoire) written by a famous kabiraj from Bangladesh Md Safiuddin Mia. Note the secular nature of the mantra which invokes both Islamic and Hindu faiths: Shib or Shiva is an important Hindu God sometimes described as the destroyer. Ram (Ramer means Ram's) is the legendary king from the epic Ramayana who is also venerated as an avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu. Suleiman Nabi is of course the Prophet Suleiman of Islam whose character, incidentally has similarities with King Solomon of Israel, mentioned in the Bible. If you are interested in comparative religion and the parallels between religions, you might find the list of Prophets of the Qur'an (alongwth theie Judaeo-Christian counterparts) at the bottom of this Wikipedia page on the Islamic view of Solomon, worth a visit. NOte how similar some of the names are.
