Ever seen a machine bellyfull with Madame Bovary or Marquis de Sade? Patiently waiting for you to deliver itself of its burden of dictionaries or the latest potboiler? Well here they are. Book-vending machines were introduced in France a few years back. According to one report they were introduced to cater to off-hour demand, when stores are closed.
